The CeMaFiR is active in the areas of Macroeconomics & Finance, specifically macro-financial linkages regarding: Central Banks; Governance of Countries, Markets and Institutions; Banking and Financial Institutions Supervision and Regulation; Development Finance; Corporate Finance and Governance; Corruption and Money Laundering, and related issues.

The CeMaFiR cooperates with a number of Universities and research centres, International Financial Institutions and national Institutions.
The CeMaFiR is host to a number of senior and junior Fellows doing research on their own and in teams. It also encourages and promotes young scholars.
The CeMaFiR also organizes a Workshop on Economic Policy and Open Economy Macro jointly with national and international Universities and Institutions.
